GBEMIGA OWOLABI is the Human Resources Director for Airtel Networks Nigeria and has a wealth of experience spanning HR strategy formulation, international HR, talent management, employee engagement, capability development and HR business partnering and enterprise business transformation in FMCG, Oil & Gas and Telecommunications industrial sectors.
Gbemiga has managed HR for multinational organisations in various geographies including Nigeria, United Kingdom and East Africa. He started his career with Lennards Nigeria Plc as HR Manager and subsequently joined Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC) as HR Manager. He left the organization as the Capability Development Manager with a remit covering Manpower Planning, Resourcing, Learning and Development, Performance Management and Talent Management.
He joined BG Exploration & Production Nigeria Ltd as HR Manager. He was transferred on international assignment to the United Kingdom headquarters of the parent company (BG Group) in 2009 and appointed as HR Manager of Dragon LNG in Wales, a joint company of BG Group with Petronas of Malaysia. He was later appointed as the Vice President HR & Admin for BG East Africa in 2011 covering Tanzania, Kenya and Madagascar business units.
Gbemiga holds an MSc Industrial Relations & Personnel Management degree (University of Lagos) and an MBA Marketing (University of Ife). He is an alumnus – Advance Management Programme (AMP 19) of Lagos Business School and has completed various executive development and human resources programmes in several professional institutes in Europe. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management in Nigeria
